 Cray Valley has a small, yet versatile, selection of CRAYVALLAC® surface modifiers specifically developed to enhance the surface lubricity of water-based coatings. These surface modifiers are available as both micronised powders and easy to handle aqueous dispersions. CRAYVALLAC® surface modifiers are suitable for use in a wide range of water-based coating systems, where they provide the formulator with the following surface enhancements:
- Control of matting and silk effect.
- Improved scratch, slip, rub and abrasion resistance.
- Enhanced blocking and water repellency.
- Greater solvent and heat resistance.
- A smooth, silky-feel and appearance.
Due to their pre-wetted and pre-dispersed nature, CRAYVALLAC® aqueous dispersions are easier to incorporate into water-based coating systems. Compared to these, the CRAYVALLAC® micronised powders generally require the addition of a surfactant to facilitate the dispersion process.
Also some new additives such as rheology modifiers and flow and levelling
agents have been added in order to improve flow properties, stability on storage,
antisedimentation, sag resistance etc...
